History
The late Mr. Schatten created Schatten Properties in the late 1940's when he built the first apartment house in Nashville, Tennessee. His goal was to provide affordable housing for the returning GI s and their families. The values that were so important then are still in place today. Our goal continues to be to provide affordable, well-maintained apartment homes to qualified people.
Today, Schatten Properties has over 3500 apartment homes in the Southeast with properties in Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia and Alabama. Schatten Properties continues to maintain majority ownership in all their apartment communities. Because of this private ownership, management spends the money needed to keep the properties not only aesthetically appealing but in good condition. Schatten communities often provide the best value in the market. Our communities may not have all the "bells and whistles" that drive up the costs but we do provide spacious apartments with everything that matters at a price you can afford.
Our service is also noteworthy. We take a genuine interest in our residents and provide service with a smile. Many of our employees have been with us for upwards of 20 years - a rarity in our industry. Obviously, Schatten Properties treats their employees well and in turn their employees treat their residents well.
